Job Overview
Position Title: Education Officer (U4)
Number of Vacancies: 442
Department: Government Secondary Education
Ministry: Ministry of Education and Sports
Location: Government Secondary Schools across Uganda
Job Level: Mid-level teaching and supervisory role
Work Schedule: Full-time (8 hours/day)
Salary Scale: U4 (As per government salary structure)

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach upper secondary (S5–S6) subjects and implement the national curriculum
Mentor Assistant Education Officers and guide student teachers
Monitor academic performance and implement remedial strategies
Participate in departmental planning, assessments, and research
Contribute to school leadership and development initiatives
Uphold discipline and support students’ personal and moral development
Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Education OR a Bachelor’s Degree with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education
Must be a serving Assistant Education Officer with at least 3 years of experience
Evidence of classroom effectiveness and involvement in school activities
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills
