Today marks a significant day for the accounting profession in Uganda as the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) releases the results of the May 2024 examinations. Today marks a significant day for the accounting profession in Uganda as the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) releases the results of the May 2024 examinations. The May 2024 examinations commenced on the 20th of May and concluded on the 24th, with over 6,977 students registered to sit for the Certified Public Accountants (CPA), Accountant Technicians Diploma (ATD), and the Certified Tax Advisers (CTA) Examinations across seven centers. The release of these results is a testament to the rigorous educational standards upheld by ICPAU and its commitment to nurturing competent professionals who can contribute significantly to the economy and society.
The CPA (U) course, aligned with the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) International Education Standards (IES), is designed to produce well-rounded professionals capable of serving in various high-level financial roles. Similarly, the CTA qualification prepares individuals to become adept tax advisors, playing a crucial role in the economic development of Uganda. The ATD program aims to equip accounting staff with a broad range of technical knowledge and skills, preparing them for diverse sectors of the economy.
