Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. This may involve gathering financial data, analyzing variances, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the budgeting process by assisting in the development of annual budgets, forecasting future financial performance, and analyzing budget variances to provide insights for decision-making.
Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to assess the financial health of the organization, identify trends, and evaluate business performance. This may include analyzing profitability, liquidity, solvency, and efficiency ratios.
Cash Flow Management: Assist in managing cash flow by monitoring cash balances, forecasting cash needs, and optimizing cash utilization to ensure liquidity and financial stability.
Financial Planning: Support financial planning activities, such as strategic planning, investment analysis, and capital budgeting. Assist in evaluating investment opportunities, assessing risks, and recommending financial strategies to achieve organizational goals.
Internal Controls: Help establish and maintain internal controls and procedures to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation, reconciliations, and explanations of financial transactions and processes to ensure audit readiness and compliance.
Financial Systems Management: Utilize financial management software and systems to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the accuracy and reliability of financial data.
Team Leadership: Provide guidance and supervision to finance team members, including training, mentoring, and performance management, to ensure the team's effectiveness and professional development.
Advisory Services: Provide financial advice and guidance to management, stakeholders, and departments within the organization on matters such as budget management, cost control, revenue enhancement, and financial risk management.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field is typically required for Assistant Finance Manager positions. A master's degree or professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) may be preferred.
Experience: Relevant work experience in finance or accounting is often required, especially for mid-level or senior assistant finance manager positions. Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, financial analysis, or financial management may be required depending on the role.
Knowledge of Financial Principles: Strong knowledge of financial principles, practices, and standards (e.g., GAAP - Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) is essential for performing finance duties accurately and effectively.
